AIP Tag Non-identifiable data
Why is behavioural data considered non-identifiable information?
Behavioural data is considered non-identifiable data because the data is aggregated into more coarse signals that are ready inputs for predictive models.
Why are environmental signals considered non-identifiable?
Environmental signals are considered non-identifiable signals, not PII because of their very broad attributes such as Country, Continent and URL data.
Environmental data is limited to non-specific attributions like country, and continent, and therefore cannot be used to identify an individual.
How long is it stored?
Granular event data is purged after 7 days. Aggregated data is purged data after 5 years.
Does Playground XYZ require consent from website end users to process behavioral and environmental data?
No, because consent is not required to process non personal information.
AIP Tag Identifiable data
IP Address
The client’s IP Address, like all TCP IP traffic, is transmitted to our servers as part of the tag’s POST communication with the AIP servers in Google Cloud USA.
What we do use it for?
We extract the client’s IP Address from the HTTP header and process the IP Address to identify the coarse geolocation (Continent, Country) using the MaxMind IP2 Geo database to provide geographic reporting to our clients via aggregate reports and protect ourselves from malicious and fraudulent activity.
How long does it take and is it stored?
The processing takes only a few seconds. The IP Address is discarded after processing and never stored at rest.
Is IP Address transferred to AIP customers?
No. It is not transferred to customers.
No PII is ever transferred to customers. Customers receive aggregated reports that contain no PII.
How does Playground XYZ process IP addresses in compliance with privacy laws?
Playground XYZ has a legitimate interest in processing IP Address for security, coarse geo-location, and fraud detection purposes.
