DV360 Campaign Optimisation FAQs
Question | Answer |
|---|---|
What is Elastic.io and why do you use them? | Elastic.io is a partner we use to run optimisation on DV360. Using elastic.io allows us very limited API access to push data into specific advertiser channels, without giving us access to any other area of the platform. |
Is Elastic.io secure? | Yes, elastic.io is completely secure. You can see here for more detailed information. |
How do I share channel access with elastic.io? | We will cover this in the kick off call with you, but in the meantime please see this wiki for more information: Sharing DV360 Channel Access with Elastic.io. |
How does the optimisation work? | Using the Attention Measurement Tag that you already have implemented, Playground XYZ scores inventory (URLs) for Attention time. The optimisation channel is updated so that it only includes the highest performing URLs for Attention time. We usually start by targeting the top 40% and then go from there. |
How often does the Optimisation channel update? | Every 4-6 hours. |
Should I duplicate the set up in CM360 and DV360? | Yes please! Playground XYZ reporting pulls data from CM360, so although the optimisation channel is applied in DV360, it is important that you still duplicate the same set up throughout CM360 so we can report accurately. |
Do I need to include or exclude the channel? | Unless otherwise specified, please exclude the channel. An option to include does exist, but please discuss this with your Playground XYZ rep before implementing, as it requires a change on our side. |
Do I need control vs exposed placements? | Unless otherwise specified, please set up both control and exposed (aka optimised) placements, and only apply the optimisation channel to the exposed placements. Please ensure you include exposed/control in the naming conventions across both CM360 and DV360. |
Does optimisation work on all inventory? | No, currently this only works on DISPLAY. Please do not target in-app or video inventory. |
